The first National Students Contest in English (NSCE) for engineering
universities was held in 2015. More than 20 teams from different Russian cities
and towns have taken part in it since then. The Contest topics were many and varied. Among them are "Space
Research", "Role of Women in Science", "Additive
Technologies" and others.
Traditionally our Contest lasts three days. On the first day, the
participants watch a video, do grammar and vocabulary assignments based on it,
solve brainteasers, and crossword puzzles. On the second day, they are engaged
with creative tasks. Team members present their ideas on Contest topics within
strict time limits and in various forms, like making videos, debating or
delivering lectures, etc. The last day is the Awards Ceremony. Several times the Contest participants
were invited to the British Embassy in Moscow, but mostly a short concert is
organized by our talented students to celebrate the participants of the
competition.
In 2021, we successfully organized the Contest online. This year the
Contest will be held in the same way.
